2017 was a very productive year for us at the Stop Police Terror Project-DC. We’ve worked to empower community-led public safety efforts, exposed racism and brutality in police culture, and built bridges between those currently incarcerated and their fellow residents here in the District of Columbia. Our efforts have reached thousands and actively engaged hundreds. We marched in the streets, lobbied in the halls of power, knocked on hundreds of doors, and hosted potlucks and letter writing sessions.

Now that we have entered 2018, hitting the ground running, we plan to continue our efforts and raise them to a higher level. We are working on improving our web tools and printed materials; expanding our canvassing and outreach efforts to touch thousands more people; regularizing our work connecting those on both sides of the prison walls; and ensuring proper implementation of the NEAR Act.

We rely totally on your generous contributions. In order to move closer to a vision of public safety without racism, brutality and mass incarceration, please donate to the cause.
